Downgrade from El Capitan to Yosemite on new Mac Pro
I have a new Mac Pro, but some software I need to use isn't supported on El Capitan.
Is it possible to downgrade to Yosemite?
Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Not unless your previously "purchased" or had another Mac with Yosemite.
ALL of what lllaass said, PLUS:
ONLY if you ERASE the boot Drive, or install onto a different BLANK Drive. Remnants of the existing OS will prevent the Older OS from Installing.
I currently have a Mac Mini running Mavericks, but I have downloaded the the Yosemite upgrade, I just didn't upgrade it yet.
On the other Mac
- With the Yosemite installer downloaded on that Mac, make a bootable USB media using the following:
- Boot the new Mac from that media
- Format the startup disk and install OSX from thet bootable media
May I get the Yosemite installer please? As I want to downgrade from El Capitan to Yosemite. Mac store doesn't have it anymore. 😟
If it does not appear on your "Purchases" page on the Mac App Store (because you previously purchased it) it is dead to you.It is no longer available for sale as new.
If you cannot solve your problems, you will need to contact AppleCare and discuss your stated needs with them. They are unlikely to by sympathetic to your stated need for an older Mac OS X, but can be very helpful solving problems in the current version of Mac OS X.
