Some people tell me it slows down your computer. I have a macbook air that i purchased in 2012 just wondering if anyone has had problems after they upgraded to the new software?

I have a 2012 MacBook Air -- base model (4GB/128GB). It has run Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite, and now El Capitan. I've never had a problem with an upgrade or noticed an performance problem.
My Wife took her Macbook Air to El Capitan and it seems to work fine.
HOWEVER, many people that have performance issues with El Capitan are also running unnecessary Anti-Virus, unnecessary Mac cleaners, unnecessary products that claim to improve performance. Many of these things are either not designed to work with El Capitan, or actually fight El Capitan. And when I say unnecessary, generally El Capitan does not need these packages.
So far I have had no problems with El Capitan on either of my Macs.
