create midi sample from audio file

Is there a way that I can live record a cymbal and convert it to a midi file so i can use it on multiple projects? In other words can i record and save sounds from my own drum kit?

To record your drum sounds.. sample them into the EXS24 and then trigger those samples via midi regions.

This should get you started....
