mds Process: too many objects for MDSTaskRegistry

I'm seeing this error many times a minute in the System Log. Asked Apple Enterprise Server Support, but received no definitive answer. Does anyone know if there is an upper limit to the number of objects the Spotlight can index on a particular drive? Any other ideas?



mds[123]: (Task.Error:75) Can't init <MDSPeer 0x7fe76ece1910 shutdown:NO got shutdown notification:NO> -- too many objects for MDSTaskRegistry

AppleFileServer[467]: Boolean MDSChannelPeerRequest(MDSChannelPeerRef, MDSChannelAccessTokenRef, MDPlistBytesRef, MDPlistBytesRef *): (ipc/send) invalid destination port



OS X Server 10.10.5, Server app 5.0.15, Mac Pro 6,1 6-Core 3.5 w/ 32GB of RAM. 217TB of total storage.
