I must have missed something in my 2009 mbp. I want to read sd card from my mbp but flipping open the barn door there's nothing inside the slot. It's empty. There must be some sort of hardware accepting the sd card what does it call ? What's the part number ?

Since the SD card slot doesn't have a "barn door", I'm guessing that you are looking at an Expresscard/34 slot not an SD card slot.
