How to update Safari without downloading El Captain
How can I get an updated Safari 6.2.8 without downloading El Captain?
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
Download Mavericks or Yosemite from the Mac App Store(if you previously got them from there), or go to a physical Apple Store and ask for them. It isn’t possible to update Safari past 6.2.8 on Mountain Lion.
If you’re using an earlier version of Safari on Mountain Lion, open the Mac App Store, click on the Updates tab, and install all OS, Safari, and security updates. This may need to be done twice.
