'Sync' problems with iPhone 6

For Many days I've been getting this message on my iPhone 6 (IOS 9.2.1): It has been ___ days since your last backup. Visit the 'Sync' screen and tap on 'Backup' to run a backup now. I've tried and the tech folks at my provider have tried. Help!
