will any blu ray burning software work with el capitan

I am having trouble burning blu-ray data disks using iMac 5K 27 inch 4 GHz intel core i7 AMD running El Capitan 10.11.3. with 36 megs of ram and a 3TB fusion hard drive. I tried using toast14.1 but continually get error message. Is there a software that would give me better results for archiving information. Thanks, jim meraglia
