I am unable to create a backup image in Apple Configurator.

In the past I have been able to create backup images in Apple Configurator. Just recently, I keep getting the error message: "Unable to send settings command to device". I do not have the Passcode on nor do I have the Restrictions on on the iPad I am trying to make the backup of. I swapped out the USB cable from the OS 10.10.5 Mac we use Apple Configurator on to the iPads, but that wasn't the problem.. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
