Q: Long boot time and boot disk selection window freezing
Hello. I've got a problem with my MacBook Pro Retina 13" (2015 early).
My mac takes about 4 minutes booting up about a quarter of the time, and it's not related to the "Select boot disk from Settings" problem. The computer just freezes before it does anything related to the booting procedure. It's just a black screen with no mouse interaction, no sound, and no keyboard input. It doesn't recognize the 'option' key (used to get into boot disk selector) until I've pressed it for several minutes, and then the boot disk selector freezes as well.
I don't have any external drives connected, and already tried SMC reset, PRAM reset, and reinstallation of the OS(normal wipe and entire partition wipe).
I still have Apple Care left. Please help. Thanks.
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Hi Herojeff02:
It sounds like your having some SSD problems.
Have you tried booting into Safe Mode. Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support
Can you boot into recovery mode by pressing Command + R and then using disk utility to check your SSD.
See the following links: OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck - Apple Support
If you still have Apple Care I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar. It could also be a hardware issue.
