repeat chiming when iPhone since attempted with USB

I recently charged a bluetooth speaker with switch 'on' through my macbook air USB port. After that, whenever I try to sync my iPhone 6, I get repeated chiming when phone connected to USB port. What is wrong? How do I fix it?

Hi kathrynthecnm,

I understand you are hearing a chime on your iPhone when you plug it into the USB port of your MacBook Air. Here are some things to try to troubleshoot this:

  • Restart your MacBook Air.
  • Charge your iPhone using an electrical wall outlet.
  • Try a different USB port on your Mac.
  • Try a different cable for your iPhone (preferably the lightning cable that came with it).
  • Update iTunes to the latest version of the software.

Let us know if the issue still persists after trying these steps.
