I tried to view my old iPhoto library, but it replaced my Photos library

Lost hundreds of pictures today!

I just wanted to view my old iPhoto library. (I upgraded to Photos from iPhoto way back in April '15) When I opened my old library today, it started to kind of re-upgrade into Photos. When Photos finally opened, it gave me this tutorial tour, even though I've had it for almost a year. The problem is that all of my photos from last April till now have been deleted!!! I have no earthly clue why, or how to fix it.

Please help 😢

Hold down the option key and then launch Photos - in the resulting select library window check library - you should have at least two and all of your photos should be there in them - the orl ones in one and the current ones in another

When you quit PHotos and launch it again it will open the last used library =- to cahnge again optiohn click again
