how can I remove a network extension (problem during the configuration of a repeater)

Hi,

When I tried to installed a repeater ( TP-Link, TL-WA901ND) from my iMac, it didn't work.

But since then, the name of my wi-fi connection appears doubled in the list. And neither of the two works...

We installed the repeater from another computer but I'm now the only one who's not able to connect the network we share. Probably due to the bad manipulation I did when I tried to install the repeater from my imac....

Do you know how it is possible to remove that two networks from my system / list and restart from the beginning?

Yes I tried both solutions but it's not making any difference.

neither the rebooth of the router nor the deletion of the network in the network preferences. When I click on the wi-fi icon on the upper right corner of my screen, I still find the names of the two twins networks and neither of the two 's working...

Is there anything that I should delete at another place? In the library for exemple?

It's actually Gary, not Linda, anyway what kind of router do you have? If it is an Apple router do you use the Airport Utility? If yes do your appliances show up in it? I can only speculate from my own experiences. I have a TP-Link repeater also but when it installed it kept the same network names not with a RE suffix. The only other thing I could think of is to reboot the computer with your modem hooked to it by ethernet than start over again with your router.

Thank you for your advice. No I don't use an apple router. I use one of the deutsche telekom. I finally restart, reboot, reconfigure all stuffs. And the twins finally disappear ! Thank you 🙂

Anyway, one problem stays: it makes no proper difference with or without the repeater.... connection stays low. But that another problem.....

Have you tried to reboot your router with the repeater shut off? Or if all else fails then reset your router to the default settings and then start completely over.

You can also go into Network Preferences in the System Preferences and under advanced tab in lower right your Wi-Fi networks appear. You can add or delete networks.

If the speed of the connection stays low, I'm assuming your are on N speed, than see if your router supports 5GHz band. If it does create a 5GHz network and see if your speed increases.
