Since upgrading to el'cap my monitors do not wake up.

Hi all. I have a late 2013 Black Mac Pro and have two monitors plugged in via display port. Everything worked just fine until I upgraded to el'cap awhile ago. Now, when the computer puts the monitors to sleep and I try to wake them up, they don't wake up. When I tap the keyboard or something, they power up but don't have a signal then go back to sleep. The only thing to do for me is to turn them (the monitors) off and then back on again. It was of course working fine until I upgraded. Anyone have suggestions before I go though the huge pain of a clean re-install?

Thanks

Lawrence

Howdy Lawrence,

I understand that, after waking your Mac from sleep, you don't get a signal to the two displays you have connected. Fortunately the article linked below details a number of troubleshooting steps that can help restore proper functionality to your Mac and its displays.
