Keep charging whilst in sleep mode?

I have a 2015 MBP Retina model. When putting the machine into stand by/sleep mode, should I also connect the charger to the power port? Will this limit the amount of cycles counted?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

It is completely up to you. Typically my MacBook Pro is plugged into the charger when not in use. It will not cause any damage.
