Cannot install QuickTime to XP Pro SP3
I know, I'm an XP holdout, but rather than telling me to update to Windows 10 I'd like to resolve this issue if possible. I can't be the only person in the world with XP! lol
For the longest time, when I try to update QuickTime, I got the error message:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
The QuickTime.msi file IS in my Apple dowload directory, but when I click OK it keeps coming back to the same error message. So I got a copy of the msi file and placed it on my desktop and directed the install there, but it still doesn't work. I've tried to install an older version of QuickTime, but I still get the message.
When trying to update QuickTime to the most current version, the instructions on this site state how to run it on XP, however, when the time comes I get a message that I need to install Windows 7.
I can't uninstall QuickTime because of the same, supposedly unavailable, quicktime.msi file. I'm at my wits end over this, iTunes works completely fine, it's QuickTime that I've continually have a problem with.
Any luck or help out there? I have no idea where to turn. Thanks.
