Hi Sub622,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It seems like you can't share a picture to Facebook and you see alert messages relating to the account. I wouldn't say you're missing something because it looks like the feature isn't working as expected.
Do you see your Facebook account in the left-hand column of the Internet Accounts preferences? To find the preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Internet Accounts (per OS X El Capitan: Add your Twitter, Facebook, and other Internet Accounts.)
If you do see the Facebook account, try removing and re-adding the account:
- Click to highlight your Facebook account in the left-hand column.
- Click the minus sign to remove the account.
- Click the "facebook" logo in the right-hand column.
- Type your Facebook username and password.
- Once the account is added to Internet Accounts, try sharing a picture again.
Let us know if these steps helped or if you didn't see Facebook in the Internet Accounts preferences on your Mac. Additionally--what application were you sharing from?
Cheers.
