When I go to safari I only get google it is my search engine
Am I better to stay with google or go back to safari as on safari at the present moment I just keep getting google search.

I don't understand your question. Are you wanting to change your search engine from Google to something else? You can do that in Safari Preferences by going to the Search tab. If you're wanting to change Safari's homepage, you would also do that in Safari Preferences, but in the General tab.
