Play back issues using iTunes 11.4

Play back issue on iTunes 11.4

I am using iTunes 11.4 on Mac Pro OS 10.68; having issue with playback; every few minutes iTunes will pause (spinning beachball) but will continue 20 or so seconds later. any suggestions solutions?

I repaired all volumes on the Mac but the problem still exists.

It does this if you restart the computer and only run iTunes?

Are you using any network based services such as Match?

You have at least 9 GB free space on your hard drive?

I problem remains after a fresh restart; I have more than 9 gb of memory; no network services ar in use.
