Anyone know how to properly merge artists in iTunes 12?
The issue: "Pearl Jam" lists as separate artists in Artists View in iTunes 12.3, as if it is a separate, different artist. I went to Songs in Sort View and seemingly changed Artist, Album Artist, Sort Artist and Sort Album Artist all to Pearl Jam, closed iTunes and reopened and the issue persists. The individual music files are all under Pearl Jam in Finder file system as well. Annoying!
Close iTunes, open it. It may already be fixed, otherwise try again. In some cases I've ended up going around the houses adding XX before removing it. iTunes can be like herding cats sometimes.

Try grabbing all of the Pearl Jam tracks at the same time, Change the same four fields to Pearl JamX, apply the change, then remove the trailing X.

i did this, but now when i go to the artist section, iTunes won't let me get rid of the x next to the artist's name.
