Q: Macbook pro reboots when waking up from sleep

Hello guys,

For about a week now I am coming across this issue every time I wake my Macbook Pro (9.2) from sleep: open the lid, and it reboots instead of just waking up from sleep. However, this only happens after a sleep time of more than aprox. 30-40 minutes.

Has anyone come across this issue?

Recently I had switched for a Samsung SSD from my old 750gb HDD that came with the mac. Could this be the problem (it did this reboot thing before but only after unplugging the mag safe connector)?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

    Howdy claudiuberechet,

It sounds like your computer is restarting on its own when you try to wake it from sleep. I would use this section of the following troubleshooting article about sleep/wake issues on a Mac:

If your Mac doesn‘t sleep or wake when expected

    • Reset the SMC.
    • Reset NVRAM.
    • Disconnect external devices other than your Apple keyboard, mouse, and display. If that resolves the issue, gradually reconnect your devices, testing each time, until you find the device that is interfering with sleep. Then check the documentation that came with the device, or contact the device manufacturer.
    • Start up in Safe Mode to see if the issue is related to non-Apple startup items, login items, or kernel extensions.
    • Try to isolate the issue by using another user account

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Thanks for the reply! Will try to reset the SMC and the NVRAM and will let you know about the progress. I already tried disconecting external devices and start up in safe mode... but that did not work. Neither by using another user account.

Still not working after trying everything you've said. Put it to sleep over night and when I wanted to wake it up this morning restarted and was greeted by the following message. I copied the details down below.
