I have tried the method outlined in the following thread:
What is AppT on Activity Monitor and why are there two of them?
however I can't seem to find ~/Library/LaunchAgents in finder. Any ideas?

Are you in your user Library?
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library.
Thanks, I got into the library and deleted the files etc but it didnt seem to get rid of the problem, any ideas?
