Feb 17, 2016 7:28 AM in response to MarcHoppeby lllaass,You should be able to download the last version compatible with 6.1.6
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Feb 17, 2016 8:01 AM in response to lllaassby MarcHoppe,Thanks but that has nothing to do with my question. I'm not talking about Apps. I'm talking about Podcasts. Up until recently I could select a Podcast from within iTunes, download it to my computer then send it to my iPod by syncing. This no longer seems to work.

Feb 17, 2016 8:10 AM in response to MarcHoppeby lllaass,Are yo using the PodCast app?
Does other media still now sync to the iPod?

Feb 17, 2016 8:46 AM in response to lllaassby MarcHoppe,No Podcast App. On this version of the iPod, Podcasts play from the Music Player and always have. I was able to install an unrelated app recently by syncing so that does still work. Podcasts simply will no longer download to my iPod account at iTunes. In the past I've been able to download and transfer dozens of Podcasts.

Feb 17, 2016 8:58 AM in response to MarcHoppeby MarcHoppe,Ok I think this is an iTunes issue rather than an issue with the iPod version. It appears the way iTunes handles files has changed. I'll have to work on it some more........

Feb 17, 2016 9:41 AM in response to MarcHoppeby MarcHoppe,Alright I've found a workaround at least. In the new version of iTunes I can download a Podcast and then manually drag and drop the file onto the "Marc's iPod" section then sync it from there (could be a better way but I'm not seeing it yet). The trouble is there is no version of the Apple Podcast App for version 6.1.6 and older iPods can't upgrade their OS to version 7 and above. Podcasts still play through the Music Player.
