Can't download pictures from iphone

I'm trying to import my photos from my iphone5 to my MacBookPro. It will only import photos from the last month, but I want all the photos from the last 6 months. Is there a way to change the date range of import? I'm using Iphoto11 version 9.1.1 and my computer is on Mac OS X version 10.6.8. All of which I know is super outdated but it has been working for my needs so far. Just want my pictures, any help would be appreciated. I attached a picture of what is shows me when I go to import, can't change the date range.
