MacBook mid 2010 13inch - black screen, no chime

need help apple people.

i Have owned a macbook unibody mid 2010 13 inch since it was new.

however today while surfing the web in Safari the screen when black and went completely unresponsive.

so I done a hard reset by holding the power button for 10 secs to shut down but now it wont boot up again.

when I press the power button the screen stays black and there is no chime. If you hold it up to your ear you can hear the fan spinning and the hard drive starting but seems to reboot the process after 15secs or so.

i Have tried resetting the smc and the pram all with no resolution to the problem.

what could possibly be wrong?

its well past warranty so am willing to take it completely apart if someone can give me an idea of what this could be.

Really hope something major on the logic board isn't gone.
