Q: I am Upgrading to a new Mac Book Pro, my "old" one is going to a friend !

Hi all, i am going to upgrade to a new Slimline Mac Book Pro, my outgoing 3 year old Mac Book Pro is going to a good friend of mine, i have been trying for years to get him to ditch Windows, he has finally taken the bait.

So i am asking, how is it best to prepare my old MBP before i transfer ownership ?.

Is it perhaps as easy as simply Formatting the hard drive and leaving it at that ?. If so, how would he be able to get a copy of ElCapitan ???? Would it then be easy to get hold of a complimentary copy of Pages, Numbers and Keynote  ???  or perhaps they are included in ElCapitan  ???? i seem to recall that i had to pay for them 3 or 4 years ago.

Questions Questions, and is there a page i can point him to that will help his MOVE from Windows to Apple to be as painless as possible, otherwise i will loose a very good friend !!!

Later :-

The Links below all refer to OLDER version of OS X, as a result i dont think they are completely accurate ????

I had put this question in the wrong section, have now copied it to the correct place, in the hope i can get the answer for doing what i ask with Elcapitan
