Q: Manage iCloud storage

My free 5 GB iCloud storage is nearly full. When I go into iCloud to see what's taking up all the space, I see that Back Up is taking 3.72 GB of space. How can I reduce this?

MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), Mail Version 6.5

The following may help: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support
Note that it has instructions on how to completely delete an iCloud backup and turn off future backups and also has instructions on how to change which apps back up to iCloud. Neither one may be appropriate if you want a complete backup to be available in the event of a problem.
