My iphone6 keeps changing to have sound coming out of ear speaker only.

My phone's main speaker stops working (mutes) and the sound will only come from the ear speaker. I can fix it temporarily by having music play and all other apps closed, make a call, put that call on speaker, and then end call. But this only fixes it for a little while, then goes back to ear speaker only. Very frustrating, because then I can't hear my texts and such come in, among other things. Is there a way I can fix this problem permanently?
