why does my iphone 6 freeze up while playing videos

i have a iphone 6 that has 9.2.1 version software and it has over 1.6gb of storage left but it has problems playing videos. i can start to play one and it freezes up and it keeps searching and then it will play for a sec and keep searching. i have reset the settings and it keeps doing it. Can someone tell please how to fix this
