Feb 13, 2016 9:38 PM in response to jodus89by gail from maine,Have you tried deleting the fingerprint and re-doing it? Have you tried recording the fingerprint from more than one of your fingers? Can you tell us if you have tried any troubleshooting at all? Take a look at the bottom of this support article for additional help:

Feb 13, 2016 9:48 PM in response to gail from maineby jodus89,I have tried all you have mentioned. It seems to be a hardware issue, the sensor doesn't seem to be recognizing anything. Cannot use any feature that has Touch ID, even the double tap for access to the upper part of the screen. I have taken my screen protector off, case off and cleaned everything multiple times with no success.

Feb 13, 2016 9:53 PM in response to jodus89by gail from maine,Then you need to take it back to the Apple Store or the AASP provider to have it looked at. If the hardware is defective, they will replace the device, so be sure to make an iCloud or iTunes (or both) backup before you take it in, so that if you do get a new device you can restore that device from the backup you made:
Best of luck,

Feb 13, 2016 10:15 PM in response to jodus89by love repair,Don't blow off getting this phone in for a warranty swap with Apple. You will regret it if you don't. The fingerprint sensor is required to avoid error 53 at any software update.
