There are certain cables, adapters or monitors that are not compatible with a macbook.
Try using Boot Camp to connect to the LCD monitor. If the problem persists, it may as well be a compatibility issue.
So the cable has HDMI on one end that connects to computer and VGA on other end that connects to monitor?
Can y provide a link to that cable?
that is cable I used: http://titan-ice.co.za/hdmi-to-vga-d-sub-display-adapter-converter.html
I tis likely that the HDMI on the Mac does not provide sufficient power to the converter.
Here is a similar converter
it includes this statement
FLEXIBLE POWER SOLUTIONNo power adapter is required. But in order to cover cases of connecting to a low-powered video card, the Coboc CL-AD-HD2VGA-6-BK offers a Micro USB female port for getting extra power from a computer or power adapter (not included).
I found this link: http://chris.dziemborowicz.com/blog/2012/07/04/fix-external-monitor-resolution-o n-macbook-pro-with-retina-display/

Is there problem with resolution ?
No problem with resolution. The article on resolution concerns get as high as the native resolution of the screen. Your screen has low resolution and the screen does not work at all
From information that I provided, my Adapter have problem ? May be it is not enough energy to work ?
