Since buying a new mac and switching to the latest version of iTunes, I am unable to play several songs that I had originally downloaded from Soundcloud. Some of the songs I've downloaded from Soundcloud play with no issues, while others are still listed on the playlist but are faded and will not play. These same songs played on my old mac with no issues. I've tried to redownload and also to covert to ACC, but nothing seems to work. What gives?

My experience with Soundcloud is that the downloads come as either MP3 or WAV, both of which should play fine in iTunes.
Just to check that the files did not get corrupted in the move, can they with another player on your new Mac, such as QuickTime?
I suspect this has something to do with your upgrades and you probably default activating the Apple Music feature, though I can't say exactly what.
These song files won't play on Quick Time either. Does this mean the files are corrupted?

Maybe. Do you have a friend who could download the same files from Soundcloud and see if they work on that machine?
