From your post, I understand that when you boot your Mac and try to load OS X, you are seeing a screen with a padlock on it. This sounds like you have enabled a firmware password. The following article discusses firmware passwords and how to use them.

Feb 16, 2016 9:02 AM in response to joe_7399by ppariya,I would like to point out that after I installed Windows 10 the Mac automatically set a firmware password. I never set a firmware password before or after installing Windows 10.
