Spilled coffee on Mac book pro and it shut itself down but first the screen went dark and had horizontal lines before it shut off what do I do help?

Melinda; Bob is absolutely right. Liquids and electrical items do not mix. Do as he says, but in addition, check your home insurance policy, you may be covered under the accidental damage section, if there is one.

Bob thank you when I purchased the Macbook Pro last year I purchased the extended warranty thru my Post exchange military store the PX and it includes coverage for accidental spills and drops. My Mac will recovered thankfully a repair claim is active. Unfortunately I may loose data on my desktop which I had not backed up. Lesson very important has been learned back up and buy a seal keyboard film. I'll post again once I get back my PC how it all turns out!
