External hard drive works well on all macs except mine

I've been using a WD Elements for about a year and all of the sudden my macbook pro doesn't recognize it. I've tested it on other computers, both macbooks and imacs and it works well on any other system except for mine. It doesn't even show up on disk utility nor in system information. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
