I work with many small snippets of audio, sometimes seconds in length. Each one can have a fade in and out, and I need to move these clips around like I'm cutting & pasting in a word doc.
However when I do this, the volume adjustments do not follow the audio. How do I 'anchor' the volume line to each bit of audio?

Enable the option "Move Track Automation with Regions" in the Mix menu (in GarageBand 10").
In GarageBand '11 you are having a similar option in the Control menu. "Lock Automation Curves to Regions"

I use Audacity mainly and the volumes are attached to the clip of audio. Now I'm using Garageband and Reaper for the first time to see which is easier for me to use. Reaper acts like Audacity in this amping regard, but Garageband... well, thank you very much for helping me! 🙂
