Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I've now got 2 iPhones. Texts from the new iPhone6 look like they come from the other, an iPhone 5S, as I want it. Problem is iPhone6 won't deliver to some contacts, probably non-iPhone users. Any idea where I have wrong setting?

SMS messaging is a carrier feature. Contact your carrier.
Any settings for SMS are on Verizon's side. Sounds as if SMS is blocked. Give them a call.
actually, that appears to NOT be the issue, nor was Verizon Wireless's comment "it's your friends' phones; iPhones notoriously do not play well with others" response. Seems that it was the "Text Message Forwarding" setting. On the iPhone 5S I had authorized the iPhone 6 here, and I needed to authorize the the iPhone 5S on the iPhone 6. Now I can text everyone from the iPhone 6 and the texts (or iMessages) appear to come from the iPhone 5S, the number everyone knows of mine.
Can't text non-iPhone users on new iPhone6.
