Remove photo from iOS device but KEEP in iCloud !!!

I just can't believe that I am the only user out there who would like to remove pictures and videos from the iOS device but still keep them in iCloud!! What is the point of paying for iCloud upgraded space if removing the pictures from our devices, removes them from iCloud storage as well (in a month's time or otherwise).

If other users feel the same way, make it an option to remove from iCloud Apple!!!

You aren't the only one. Many people have stated the same here. Unfortunately, iCloud Photo Library (and other features of iCloud) was designed as a method for syncing among devices rather than as a cloud-only storage option. Also note that this is a user-to-user support forum. You may also want to provide feedback to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html
