how can I delete notifications from the notification on imac

Some notifications have been included in my notification center on Imac but I don't want them. How can they be deleted?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7

Go the the System/Notifications preference pane, click on the app you want to exclude and uncheck the Show in Notifications checkbox:

Thanks very much. I had already figured that out BUT after removing it from being activated the notices still remain in the window. I was just wondering if I could delete them completely.

Have you tried clearing the Notifications pane and then check to see if new ones appear?
