The or send it back to Apple
See this ASC User provided tip. I set my iOS device to January 1, 1970...
i tried doing this but after the firmware restore step of the itunes my phone reboots and its not detected by itunes then and on my phone screen the apple logo is there with a progress bar below it
its out of warranty period
Then you either did not correctly get it into DFU, or you have not waited long enough for the device to finish since you are seeing the progress bar. It will not be seen in iTunes as long as that progress bar is showing during the restore process.
i checked for dfu mode iphone was in dfu mode only
in itunes it shows nothing at all
should i take it to apple care
what you need to do is restart the phone while plunged to the computer redo DFU MODE when holding the home button don't let go till you hear it conect to the computer it will show up on iTunes. After restore phone you may need to redo restore 2/3 time it will do it after the loading bar will show unplug you phone and leave it . It's going to load on its own and your phone should be good
Apple released this support document yesterday. If you changed the date to May 1970 or earlier and can’t restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Don't confuse what you did with a bug. What you did to your device was intentional.
