Apps and music not downloading from iTunes

Is there something wrong with itunes or the App Store today? I am unable to download apps and music from the iTunes and App Store. anything that I have selected is waiting. No prompt for Touch ID or signing in appear when I purchased the songs and apps. The songs and apps are still waiting.
