If I'm understanding your question, you purchased a gift card, but your credit card is being used for purchases instead of the gift card, is that right? The resource below may help explain why that is happening. I've highlighted some key information for you. Click on the link for complete details.
How iTunes Store purchases are billed
-
Which payment methods are used first?
When you make a purchase, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits. The payment method that you have on file is then charged for any remaining balance.
When you buy individual songs from the iTunes Store:
- Free song credits are redeemed first.
- If you have no free song credits, then your gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used next.
- If your gift certificate, prepaid card, or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, the payment method that you have on file is billed for the remaining balance.
- If you have no free song credits or gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, the payment method that you have on file is billed for the songs that you buy.
You can review your purchase history and contact the iTunes Store Support Team if you have any additional questions about your account.
See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC
Take care,
