Q: 1970's Brick Bug

THIS IS A PROBLEM AFFECTING ALL SYSTEMS STARTING FROM iPHONE 5S (INCLUDING iPADS AND iPOD TOUCHES). Do not fall for this prank! If ANYONE convinces you to change your date back to January 1, 1970, DO NOT DO IT! Your phone will become automatically bricked and the only probably fix is to take it to the Apple Store. I assume Apple is quick at work to find a solution to this bug, but for the time being, do not do it!

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2.1

You mean NOT to do it even after the articles documenting the "bug" repeatedly WARN users NOT to do it, and then they proceed to do it anyways?

    Thanks for the insight...

Why would you do this in the first place?  Do you really believe that back dating the clock by 46 years is going to gain you a retro look that only dates from 2007?  Why do people just blindly trust anything they read on the Internet?  I've never understood that, especially if your iPhone is essential to your daily life.

If you were a limo driver and relied on your limo for your livelihood, would you just go ahead and try to install a backyard, do-it-yourself nitro-kit you stumbled upon on YouTube?  I mean, it's on the Internet, so it too must be true and safe, right?

I have this problem even though I never changed the time or date

I noticed the date and time on my iPod had changed automaticallyand it cannot be fixed. :/

I don't know what to do???

No, your phone did not change it's date back to 1970 "automatically". Someone (maybe not you) changed it.

I set my iOS device to January 1, 1970...
