I have a apple tv 4 gen ( latest software) in my work domain. I do not use the wifi i use de LAN poort.
When iam done with the setup i can use the iPad air of the iPhone 6 for AirPlay. When i want to use the iPad 2 it dont work. I dont see the Airplay button.
The iPad two runs on firmware 9.1 (13B143).
What to do ?

Note the section for peer to peer airplay. The iPad2 does not support that. I suspect if the ATV4 was on the same wifi network as the iPad2 it would work.

Thanks for the support. The apple tv dont support the 802x wifi protocol. The iPad 2 en the apple TV are in the same Domain en network.

So how does the iPad connect to the network.
2 wifi devices does not communicate directly with each other they communicate using a router or switch
so unless the router is set to not bridge ethernet and wifi then it should be 100% transparent for the iPad and appletv that
one is on wifi and one is on ethernet
The iPad 2 have the 802X only the apple tv dont have the 802X support.

Yes but there is no reason why the iPad on wifi and the Apple TV using ethernet can't AirPlay together so long as the wifi and ethernet are the same network.
Peer to Peer will require a wifi network anyway.

Work through the list I posted earlier.
if it's not then it's because the ethernet and wifi are not bridged http://www.wikihow.com/Bridge-an-Internet-Connection
or because the required ports are not allowed TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products - Apple Support
there are a lot of issues with people setting or asking the tech to set up their network hacking bullet proof and ending up with very locked down networks where only port 80 is open and them being confusing why so few things works in term of things like this
