Q: following latest update, unable to connect to Internet

I turned my Ipad on last night to find an upload initiated. I left this until it finished and went to bed. This morning, It is taking forever to connect to my wifi service which is  working fine, and when I do finally get a connection, I am unable to connect to internet - getting a message 'Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding'.

My Ipad is model MD528B/A capacity 12.6GB of which 8.7GB is available.

I have also tried to check for update, but receive message 'Unable to check for update - An error occurred while checking for a software update'.

Cannot connect to App Store or Itunes.

Tried rebooting my wifi but to no effect.

Is there anyway to take out the latest update to see if this was indeed the problem.
