I set my date to Jan 1970 and my phone wont boot, how to fix without opening the device or seeing Apple.

Basically I need to use my phone in a matter of hours and its "bricked" because I changed the date, I've let the battery FULLY drain but to no avail, is there anyway to fix this without seeing Apple as I dont have time. Its absolutely ridiculous that in 2016 a £700 piece of hardware can be bricked by merely changing the date, anyone got a fix?

To me, what's ridiculous is people falling for a scam that tells them to set their clock back 46 years to regain a retro look that dates from 2007? If your phone is essential to you, why are people messing about with ridiculous settings ideas they see on the Internet?

You can try restoring in iTunes, but odds are that yes, you're going to have to make a genius appointment and take it to Apple for them to reset it. If you open it up yourself, you will void all future warranty and out of warranty service from Apple.
