Q: Start up disc is full but storage says I have 200GB free
Hi all,
I am running a Macbook Pro - Late 2011, Yosemite 10.10.5 - It has been pretty slow of late and this morning I looked at the disc utility and saw that I only had 11MB of space left on my start up disc from a 500GB hard drive. When I looked to see how this was made up in Storage however there was about 30GB free. Anyway I have spent most of my day clearing everything that doesn't need to be there, to the tune of about 200GB of free space when I look in Storage now.
However when I check in disc utiltity I am still only seeing 11MB free space?? I have searched a few online forums and done all the usual things that have been suggested, trash is empty, iphoto internal deleted files have been removed, all move files have been deleted, there is nothing wrong with Mail or Messages in Library as both have less than 2GB of data in them... I am unsure what else to do and I keep on getting the notification that I need to delete some more files.
Can anyone suggest anything else?
Thanks
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
