Q: i erased macintosh then went over to restore os x lion i clicked on continue and it gets stuck on verifying with apple. please help

You may have trouble with the hard drive.     But first make sure yours isn't a Mac that shipped before Lion.  If it is, then the restore will only function with a certain firmware.

If you don't have the firmware installed, then you will have to find the original installer disc, if it is newer than March 15, 2010.

If it is older than March 15, 2010, you can use the retail 10.6 available at http://store.apple.com/ to install 10.6.3 first, then 10.6.8 combo update, then download Lion.
