Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues. I'm a bit unclear on your exact configuration or what you are describing, but if you are saying that you are having both of these issues (Google Maps and wifi device interface control) in Safari, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:
If Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing - Apple Support
You may also want to try testing in a new user to see if the issues are user specific, or are happening system-wide:

I'm actually not using safari, I'm using firefox. Apparently it was firefox because when I tried using safari their was no problem. Thanks so much for the help!
