Feb 16, 2016 7:23 AM in response to benjamin.robberds1by ChrisJ4203,Apple's response. If you changed the date to May 1970 or earlier and can’t restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
And it isn't a glitch. It is intentional operation on your part with the device.

apple articles says:
An upcoming software update will prevent this issue from affecting iOS devices. If you have this issue, contact Apple Support
It seems like it is an unintentional software bug

I was not meaning that it is an intentional bug, but that the user intentionally altered the device putting it in that mode. The OP defined it as a glitch, others have mentioned accidently getting it disabled. I was just saying that it is not accidental or a glitch, it requires intentional action on the part of the user.

Feb 16, 2016 8:26 AM in response to ElJohn09by ChrisJ4203,The fix described here, If you changed the date to May 1970 or earlier and can’t restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support will only prevent it from being done in the future. It will not fix what you have already done. The only fix is to take it to the Apple Store Genius Bar, or as others report, doing a DFU restore, which unfortunately, will wipe the device clean. Your only hope then would be your last backup.

Me, you would have been better advised not to bother with it as well.
So, how do you like the new theme?

I'm sorry, I wouldn't trust Facebook as my source for Apple news, especially since Apple has its own press release section of their website.

You will probably lose what you have done so far, so restore your backup.
